Progress WhatsUp Gold 2024.0: Reclaim Your Time Through Customization

Greg Collins | Posted on

It cannot be overstated how important a robust, well-maintained and customizable network is for your organization. They are the unseen infrastructure that enables communication and facilitates growth. Every organization has unique goals, challenges and workflows. A one-size-fits-all approach to monitoring often falls short and leads to time and resources being wasted trying to adapt work habits to the solution instead of adapting the solution to how your team best works.

Progress WhatsUp Gold release 2024.0, available as of August 23, 2024, is set to change that. This release includes several exciting updates meant to help reclaim your time through customization. These include:

  • Alert Center Notification Improvements
  • Bulk Change Options: Active Monitor
  • Exclude Irrelevant Monitoring Data

Bringing a host of improvements and user interface refinements, WhatsUp Gold 2024.0 adds nicely to WhatsUp Gold 2023.1: Closing Gaps in Network Visibility. This latest version enables users to work more efficiently and effectively while maintaining the health and integrity of their network infrastructure.

How Do We Determine What’s in a New Release?

For every new version of WhatsUp Gold, we concentrate on features that align with three core values: proactive monitoring, actionable insights and ease of use. Those are the keys to why WhatsUp Gold continues to win awards and recognition. Additionally, we focus on security, integrability and extensibility — areas that help our customers as they scale and build out a hybrid cloud environment.

Importantly, we use your requests to help guide the priority we assign to enhancements. In release 2024.0, we selected the most popular requests from our online community and the members of our Customer Validation Program. Let’s dive into them.

Alert Center Notification Improvements

You can now configure the email body of an alert center threshold; notifications can be configured for when a device goes back into threshold. Users can also configure additional action types in the alert center.

Bulk Change Options: Active Monitor

2024.0 now allows users to search for and apply action policies to monitors in bulk. Users no longer must apply action policies one at a time; they can easily apply multiple different action policies at once.

Exclude Irrelevant Monitoring Data

Only see the data that you care about. The reporting capabilities of WhatsUp Gold are incredibly detailed. But sometimes, the information presented may not be relevant to a user's specific environment. You can now exclude any irrelevant data, improving the actual insights users receive.

Continued Focus on Security, Ease of Use and Integrability

As with all recent releases, WhatsUp Gold 2024.0 includes many additional requested enhancements and security improvements.
