See How It All Connects With Precise Topological Maps
With our free Topology Mapping tool, IT can visualize complex networks, support root cause analysis, network planning and architectural design, and provide detailed reports for your executive staff.
DOWNLOAD WHATSUP GOLD FREE EDITIONNetwork topology maps allow IT and network pros to visualize what network devices exist, where they are, how they are related via interconnections, and how they depend and interdepend on each other. This way, administrators can keep close tabs on network devices, be alerted proactively to bottlenecks and failures and reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR), improving disaster recovery and business continuity.
The automatic network topology mapping is based on discovery, which uses Layers 2 and 3 to find assets and build detailed network topology maps that include all elements, such as switches, routers, workstations, VLANs and physical and virtual servers. Maps can be customized, and aspects of the network topology can be either displayed or hidden based on administrator preference.
If devices or services dependent on another network element, such as a switch, fail, it is not the services that need attention—it is the switch. Fortunately, WhatsUp Gold discovers and maps these dependencies. This way, IT is notified of the problem and not swamped with alerts for the dependent devices and services.
WhatsUp Gold can measure bandwidth usage and shows this via a ‘heat map’ with the precise status of links between network devices. IT can visualize which interface links are good (green), congested (yellow) or nearing their limit (red). This way, IT sees network congestion with one glance.
Wireless devices, access points and virtual and cloud-based servers need to be managed. WhatsUp Gold can automatically build dynamic wireless maps of all your access points and SSIDs. These maps also show the relationship between wired and wireless networks. Generates dynamic map of your virtual infrastructure, such as Hyper-V and VMware, showing hosts and guests, host/guest relationships, clusters and real-time statuses.

What do you like best about Progress WhatsUp Gold?
What's Up Gold is a fantastic tool, personally I love the automatic discovery of the network that allows me to have a topology almost instantly, on the other hand also the little consumption of resources. Personally, I am a fan of the NTA module and of Log Management and the Config Management module, it really is a very complete management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
