Track All Those Wireless Resources –No Matter Where They Are.
DOWNLOAD WHATSUP GOLD FREE EDITIONWhatsUp Gold software monitors and helps manage wireless network performance using historical and real-time performance data, tracking wireless access points (AP), detailing client history and alerting IT to wireless equipment problems. With WhatsUp Gold Free Edition software, you can:
WhatsUp Gold has real-time maps of the wireless network, showing who is connected to your network and from where.
Current performance data is critical to know what is happening now, but looking back can be just as important. Fortunately, WhatsUp Gold historically stores network data so IT can go back to specific points to see when an issue started and where to troubleshoot problems more easily.
This performance over time view is critical to optimizing wireless network configuration. For instance, you can see client signal strength and use this to plan where to add wireless APs. You will also know if a wall impedes or limits an AP’s range and whether the wireless components work well.
Wireless network monitoring alerts are part of the WhatsUp Gold Alert Center. Here, IT has a single place to define thresholds, set up notification policies and monitor events across the wired and wireless IT infrastructure. Alert Center offers a bevy of user-configurable alert thresholds for wireless gear and services, including:
WhatsUp Gold shows who is on the wireless network, what access points they are connected to and their bandwidth usage. Wireless monitoring offers broad visibility into wireless traffic; more specifically, it helps police high-bandwidth users and watches for suspicious activities across wireless links.
Wireless performance can be more complex to track than well-known, carefully designed and managed wired network infrastructure. Wireless is a wilder world with new systems added constantly, frequently under IT’s nose.
This growing and sometimes uncontrolled range of wireless access points (APs) can be impacted by an array of issues, even the choice of building materials that can impede signals – and thus traffic.
Once connected to an access point, wireless users usually can access the core network, consuming bandwidth and resources like anyone else. As wireless clients grow, they can saturate resources, slow network links and clog internet connections. Understanding the growth of wireless network usage is key to capacity planning for wired and wireless infrastructure.

What do you like best about Progress WhatsUp Gold?
What's Up Gold is a fantastic tool, personally I love the automatic discovery of the network that allows me to have a topology almost instantly, on the other hand also the little consumption of resources. Personally, I am a fan of the NTA module and of Log Management and the Config Management module, it really is a very complete management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
